After getting his start in photography in high school, Liam found a passion in photojournalism with the University of New Mexico’s independent student newspaper, the Daily Lobo. Beginning as a freelance photographer for the outlet, he went on to become the photo editor and later copy editor for the Lobo.

In 2021, he won the Mark Holm Daily Lobo Photojournalism Award for his work covering the Black Lives Matter protests in Albuquerque.

After graduating UNM with a degree in psychology, he went on to join the Albuquerque Journal as a copy editor, while also picking up photography assignments for the Journal’s photography department. His photos were regularly seen in the pages of the Journal’s printed paper and on the Journal’s website.

Liam has experience covering a wide range of subject matter, including protests, breaking news, sports, and cultural events. On top of this work, he has also helped illustrate the subjects of news stories through dynamic environmental portraiture.

Outside of news photography, he has participated in a variety of other photography work, including senior portrait and modeling photoshoots.

He also uses photography as a form of personal creative expression. He has produced personal projects exploring various topics illustrated through the lens of his camera and coupled with other mediums.
